George has lived and worked in Sarnia-Lambton for 25 years. He served as General Manager of the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership for 21 years. He recently joined Coldwell Banker Southwest Realty. He will use his business, industry sectors and community knowledge to assist established companies, entrepreneurs and optimize their families locational needs.

George has always been client focused and works to closely understand client visions, goals, challenges, and expectations. He earns respect by being honest, working smart and communicating effectively.

Working in Sarnia-Lambton and in the Ottawa technology complex, he was involved in many sites’ location projects for automotive, office, data centers, high technology, cleantech and chemical and biochemical projects.

George played a leading role in the establishment of the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research and Development Park, development of the biohybrid chemistry complex and the work that led to the formation of the Sarnia-Lambton Industrial Alliance. He led the effort to have Sarnia-Lambton recognized as a SMART community which it has achieved from the Intelligent Community Forum for the past five years.

As a former Newfoundlander, George has always been attracted to water and waterfront living.  He was sold on Sarnia-Lambton’s amazing beach front communities located on the Lake Huron providing access to the cleanest and clearest Great Lake. Add to this, Sarnia-Lambton’s urban and rural blend, outstanding volunteerism levels, modern health facilities, thriving arts and culture groups, temperate climate and easy driving access to Detroit and Toronto provide the reasons for staying.

He is a past co-chair of the Bluewater Sustainability Initiative and served on the Lambton College Foundation Board, Tourism Sarnia-Lambton, Bluewater Technology Access Center, RAIL, and the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce. Recent recognition included: Canada 150 Sesquicentennial Award, presented by Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu and the Life Sciences of Ontario, 2018 Community Service Award.

George holds degrees in economic-geography, urban planning, and an MBA. When not in the office you will likely find him biking, running, golfing, or skiing.
